How it works

Ground Scan uses your current GPS position to pull terrain, geological, and historical data for the immediate area. It returns a rapid assessment of the key indicators — slope, drainage, geology, proximity to workings — and a plain-language summary of what the ground suggests.

1. Be in the field — Ground Scan works best when you are physically at your target location with GPS active.
2. Tap Ground Scan — The app analyses the terrain around your current position.
3. Read the assessment — Review the indicator breakdown for the ground you are standing on.
4. Decide where to dig — Use the assessment to decide whether to work this spot or move to a better-indicated location nearby.
